It took me a long time to realize, how activitypub and other protocols must be activated to work in recent Hubzilla development releases. It's all about apps now :)
After a long period, hubzilla.inclusion.cc finally is reachable by other networks again.
Hubzilla is a nice little growing family, but mastodon and other offer much more information for now.
